Mass Effect 3 sells 890,000 units on Launch Day in North America – EA

Just as expected, Mass Effect 3 has been quite a success critically as well as financially. Though no astonishing records are expected from EA’s 2012 juggernaut, ME3 will quite easily achieve a solid financial milestone.

Anyway, according to Electronic Arts chief executive John Riccitiello, Mass Effect 3 sold over 890,000 units on its launch day in North America alone. Speaking at Wedbush Technology, Media and Telecommunications Conference in New York City, he said that the game sold just as they (EA) expected.

“Mass Effect 3 sold almost 0.9 million units on its opening day in NA alone which is quite remarkable. We anticipated it doing well, so we’re happy.”

He also stated that DLC, which was also available for purchase on 6th of March (the launch day of Mass Effect 3), has been also a huge success. GameStop claimed that ME3 saw a tie ratio of forty-percent (on opening day) which, according to Mr. Riccitiello, is highest in EA’s industry.

So happy alien hunting to all you guys who are busy saving the galaxy from the Reapers.
