New Super Mario Bros 2 Review

This is a guest post written by Brenda Lyttle.

Nintendo has decided to come up with a revamped release of the classic Super Mario Bros 2 for its Nintendo 3DS console which has been faring quite slowly in the market. Many people believe that this is a genius step on Nintendo’s behalf owing to the fact that the Super Mario Bros 2 title has proven to be a much needed booster for the Nintendo 3DS console. This title is aimed at the lovers of the Mario franchise wanting to relive the good old days of arcade gaming with side scrolling arcade gameplay. Here is a brief review of the Super Mario Bros 2 game:

Adherence to the Old Gameplay

The latest release of the Super Mario Bros 2 has seen that the gameplay of the title has remained unchanged. It is still the old side scrolling gameplay with a multi-platform interface requiring you to jump from one level to another over gaps. This aspect of the Super Mario Bros 2 has received kudos from the gaming community.

On the other hand, a small segment of the gaming community is not happy with this gameplay of the Super Mario Bros 2 and has been calling it over adherence to the decaying classical methods. While the debate is still on, it can be safely inferred that this is a masterstroke by Nintendo owing to the fact that the classic Super Mario Bros 2 was successful because of its gameplay in the first place. The story line of the Super Mario Bros 2 has had hardly any changes with the same old story of the princess being kidnapped by the Bowser and Mario setting out to rescue her.

New Power Ups

The power ups have always been the highlight feature of the Mario franchise of games and the latest Super Mario Bros 2 lives up to it completely by introducing a host of new power up options for the players. Add to this aspect the fact that the Super Mario Bros 2 game allows you to store the power ups and use them later when you need it. The old and classic power ups of the Mario franchise are still there with the addition of a few more like the raccoon suit and the Fire Mario.

All in all, the Super Mario Bros 2 for the new Nintendo 3DS is a welcome change to the world of gaming and brings a fresh air with it by taking the gamers back to the golden era of gaming. For more Mario fun, you should visit Mario dash games.
